Group Retreat Center Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What size Groups can you accommodate?
We can sleep 150 and up to 250 people for day activities. Our indoor dining room in the Main Lodge seats 150. Additionally, we have an expansive, lit outdoor picnic area right outside the Main Lodge.

Our minimum for exclusive use is at least 50 guests.

What happens if it rains?

No problem! We have indoor space. In addition to the dining hall/main lodge, there is our creative arts building (“Aartvark”) and center for the performing arts (“Huckleberry”). Please call (650) 640-9283 to discuss your options.

Where is the nearest medical facility?

The nearest hospital in Cupertino is 6 miles away. The nearest Urgent care is 4 miles away. The local emergency services station is only 1 mile away.

Do you have any special restrictions?

Camp Via West is a nut-free campus. Products containing nuts or that are prepared with nut products are not used or stored in our facilities. For the safety of our guests, campers, staff, and visitors with nut allergies, please take care to ensure that any food you bring on campus is nut free.

Can we provide lifeguards for the pool? When is the pool open?

The pool is not heated, and is open from mid-May through September. The pool is warmest during the afternoon hours. Guests must provide their own lifeguard: 1 per 25 people.

Do you provide linens?

We can provide a linen package with one pillow, two sheets and a blanket for $7.50 per person. Guests may add a towel to this package for an additional $2.50.

What is the weather like?

We suggest guests bring layers as the weather can vary throughout the day from cool to warm and damp to dry.

Is there a suggested packing list?

We recommend the following items: shower shoes, shower caddy, flashlight, sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, hat

Is Wifi available throughout the camp?

Yes! We will provide the group leader with the Wifi credentials and they can decide with whom in their group to share it. If you have videos embedded in any presentations we recommend downloading them before coming to camp for a smooth experience.

Is cellular service available throughout the camp?

Guests will be able to access some cell service when wifi calling is enabled, and are also able to iMessage. Landlines in our main office are available to all guests.
